BERLIN, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Eintracht Frankfurt reaped their first away win of the season after beating newly promoted Union Berlin on the second-half goals from Bas Dost and Andre Silva at the curtain raiser of the 6th round in Bundesliga on Friday.

Hosts' Union Berlin started highly motivated into the clash and needed only six minutes to create the first chance of the game when Marvin Freidrich tested Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp with a one-timer following a corner kick.

The "Eagles" grew into the game as the clock ticked but still Frankfurt needed 43 minutes before Silva's header on target forced Union custodian Rafal Gikiewicz into the action for the first time.

Frankfurt caught a perfect start into the second half as Gikiewicz parried a hammer from Filip Kostic into the path of Dost, who made no mistake to tap home the rebound from very close range in the 48th minute.

The hosts tried to respond but it were Frankfurt who scored at the other end of the pitch in the 62nd minute when Silva headed home Djibril Sow's pinpoint cross into the box to double the lead.

Union's head coach Urs Fischer reacted and fielded Joshua Mees and Anthony Ujah in the 66th minute. Ujah's substitution paid off 20 minutes later as the striker reduced the arrears following a square pass from the edge of the box.

However, Ujah's goal came too late as Frankfurt protected their narrow lead to the end to snatch the third win from six games.

With the result, Eintracht Frankfurt sit on the 7th place for the moment meanwhile Union Berlin stay on the 14th position of the Bundesliga standings.

"I think if you look at the 90 minutes, we secured a deserved victory today. It is definitely not easy to grab an away win here," Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Adi Hutter said.

The following fixtures are scheduled for Saturday: front-runners Leipzig host Schalke, newly promoted Paderborn see runners-up Bayern Munich, Hoffenheim encounter Borussia Monchengladbach, Mainz face Wolfsburg, Augsburg meet Bayer Leverkusen and Dortmund take on Werder Bremen.
