MUSCAT, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Football Association (CFA) was presented the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Recognition Award for Grassroots Football as the Inspiring Member Association at the AFC Annual Awards here on Wednesday.

Promoting grassroot foolball has always been put high on agenda by the CFA. The association has organized a number of competitions for non-professional teams and clubs including the Chinese Cities Soccer Super League, which attracted approximatedly 100,000 people from about 3,000 clubs.

The CFA also joins hands with the AFC to provide free trainings for coaches at grassroot level in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and other cities.

The Developing Member Association and the Aspiring Member Association awards were won by the Football Association of Singapore and the Palestine Football Association respectively.
