SEOUL, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in convened a meeting on security and foreign affairs on Tuesday, a day ahead of his special envoys' visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), according to the presidential Blue House.

Attending the meeting were Moon's five-member special delegation, led by Chung Eui-yong, top national security advisor and the head of the National Security Office of the Blue House.

The other four delegates were Suh Hoon, chief of the National Intelligence Service (NIS), the country's spy agency, NIS deputy chief Kim Sang-gyun, Vice Unification Minister Chun Hae-sung and Yun Kun-young, a Blue House official.

Presidential chief of staff and ministers of defense, foreign affairs and unification also attended the meeting.

Moon's special emissaries were scheduled to take an air route over the western inter-Korean sea boundary to Pyongyang Wednesday, and return home on the same day.

The special envoys are expected to set a date for the third summit between Moon and top DPRK leader Kim Jong Un, which the two Koreas agreed to hold in Pyongyang before the end of September.
