ANKARA, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Turkey officially demanded the arrest and extradition of former Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) leader Salih Muslim from Germany, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Monday.

Turkey sent the files to Berlin on Friday, the government spokesperson Bekir Bozdag said.

Ankara High Court has issued an arrest warrant for Muslim on charges of "damaging national unity and integrity," and asked the Interpol to issue a red notice against him.

However, Germany has so far "failed to meet the expectations of judicial practices" from Turkey, Bozdag added.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told reporters that he is to discuss the extradition of Muslim with his German counterpart on Tuesday.

On Feb. 27, Muslim was released by a Czech court after he was detained two days ago in Prague, triggering a strong protest from Turkey, which requested the country to extradite him.

The recent footage on Facebook showed that Muslim was seen in Berlin on Saturday at a rally against Turkey's ongoing military operation in Syria.

The Turkish Interior Ministry has offered a bounty of nearly 1 million U.S. dollars on Muslim who is listed as a most wanted terrorist.

Ankara regards the PYD as the Syrian affiliate of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey.
